Kathleen Colpoys, Paraplanner

Kathleen grew up in Scituate, MA, where she played just about every sport she could. Inspired by her older cousins, she picked up volleyball later than most—but it quickly became her favorite. She attended high school at Notre Dame Academy in Hingham, MA, where she excelled in volleyball, basketball, and tennis. Kathleen was later inducted into the NDA Athletics Hall of Fame for her accomplishments across all three sports.

Her goal of finding a college that combined strong academics with high-level athletics led Kathleen to College of the Holy Cross. There, she made program history as a member of the Division I volleyball team while earning her Bachelor’s degree in Economics.

Although she considered a career in finance after graduation, Kathleen was drawn to remain in collegiate athletics, launching a 13-year coaching career. Early on, she balanced coaching with graduate studies at the University of New Hampshire, where she earned a Master of Science in Kinesiology: Sport Studies.

During a decade long career as a head coach, she mentored more than 100 Division I and II student-athletes in volleyball, academics, and life—earning multiple team and individual recognition awards along the way, including being named the Patriot League Women’s Volleyball Coach of the Year.

Ultimately, Kathleen decided to pivot her career. Her economics background and love of numbers pointed her toward financial services, while her passion for working with and helping people made financial planning the right fit. She joined Heritage in 2025 as a Paraplanner, working closely with the firm’s wealth management teams to develop financial plans for clients.

Outside of work, Kathleen enjoys time with family and friends, reading, cheering for all the Boston sports teams, playing golf, and spending as much time as possible active by the ocean.
