PRIVACY POLICY OF HERITAGE FINANCIAL SERVICES

Updated 7/6/2023

The Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) was enacted by Congress in 1999. The GLBA requires certain financial institutions, such as investment advisor firms, to protect the privacy of customer information. As a result, the SEC adopted Regulation S-P, which among other things, requires investment advisors registered with the SEC to adopt appropriate policies and procedures that address safeguards to protect this information and to disclose its privacy policies to clients. Heritage Financial Services has always taken great measures to protect and safeguard information we gather on our clients. As a financial company, we can choose if or how we share your personal information. Federal law gives consumers the right to limit some but not all sharing. Federal law also requires us to tell you how we collect, share, and protect your personal information.

How and Why We Collect Information

Heritage Financial Services collects information about you to help us serve your financial needs, conduct regular business, provide customer service, offer new products or services, and fulfill legal and regulatory requirements. Any collection of personal information is to support our normal business operations and service your account.

Heritage Financial Services collects nonpublic personal information about you to conduct regular business. The sources and the information collected may include:

• Information on applications and related forms such as name, address, Social Security number, assets and income, and medical information if applying for insurance;
• Information regarding your transactions with us such as products or services purchased, account balances and payment history;
• Information developed as part of a financial plan or investment advisory services;
• Information from your employer, association or benefit plan sponsor such as name, address, Social Security number, assets and income.

Sharing Information

Heritage Financial Services does not disclose nonpublic personal information about you to anyone, except as permitted or required by law. In the course of servicing your account, we may share information collected about our customers, as previously described above, to other unaffiliated service providers such as insurance companies, mutual fund companies, custodians, broker dealers or investment firms to provide account maintenance or customer service to your account. We may also disclose your information to other organizations such as government agencies and law enforcement officials (for example, for tax reporting or under court order) or other organizations and individuals with your consent (for example, attorney or tax professional).

Protecting Your Information

Heritage Financial Services is committed to safeguarding the confidential information of its clients. Heritage Financial Services maintains physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to guard your nonpublic personal information to ensure we are complying with our own policy, industry practices, and federal or state regulations. If you decide to close your account(s) or become an inactive customer, we will adhere to the privacy policies and practices described in this notice.

Except as permitted or required by law, Heritage Financial Services does not sell, share, or disclose your nonpublic personal information to unaffiliated third-party marketing companies.

Children

We respect the privacy of children and do not knowingly collect or retain personally identifiable information or nonpublic information from children under the age of 18 through our website. However, we may process nonpublic information, on a child’s behalf, with permission from the parent or guardian.

To the extent we have unintentionally collected any nonpublic information on our website from a person under the age of 18 years old, you may request and obtain removal of this nonpublic information. To make such a request, please send an email with a detailed description of the specific content or information to heritage@heritagefinancial.net

Please be aware that such a request does not ensure complete or comprehensive removal of the content or information you have posted and that there may be circumstances in which the law does not require or allow removal even if requested.

Changes to this Policy

Heritage Financial Services will provide each client with initial notice of the current Privacy Policy when the client relationship is established. Heritage Financial Services may amend this Privacy Policy at any time.

If we decide to use personal information in a manner that is materially different from what was stated at the time it was collected, which would allow us to disclose nonpublic information not covered under applicable law, we will notify you of such changes prior to implementing them, with the opportunity to opt out of such disclosure, by posting a revised Privacy Policy with a new “Updated Date”.

We encourage you to check our website frequently to see when this Privacy Policy was last updated.
