Dedicated to making a positive and lasting financial impact on the people in his life, Sammy felt called to pursue wealth management to ease the stress and complexity people feel when dealing with money matters. His career spans more than twenty years of helping high net worth investors build financial plans, manage their money, and coordinate all aspects of their finances. Sammy was born in Boston and spent most of his life here – though he’s also lived overseas and in Baltimore, Toronto and Rochester, New York. He earned his BA from the University of Toronto and his Juris Doctor from the University of Maryland.
Early in his career, Sammy worked as lead advisor at an investment firm run by an estate planning group, where he drafted estate planning documents, administered estates, conducted tax research and worked closely with a robust trust department in addition to his financial planning and investment responsibilities. Next, Sammy built a national wealth management practice for a large money manager, and in 2011, became one of the youngest and fastest employees to be named a shareholder of that firm.
As President and CEO of Heritage Financial, Sammy has the privilege to lead a dynamic organization providing meticulous wealth management services to clients. He is keenly focused on keeping the firm at the cutting edge of the wealth management industry by charting a long-term strategic course for Heritage and driving execution of the firm’s strategic initiatives. Key to this is fostering a culture among Heritage team members that adheres to well-defined core values with a focus on lifelong learning and career development, teamwork, integrity, and a relentless passion to serve clients and the community.
In addition to his leadership role, Sammy serves on the Investment Committee, works closely with a select group of high net worth clients, and spends time cultivating relationships with prospective clients who fit the firm’s approach. He is the author of the five-star rated book Beyond The Basics: Maximizing, Allocating, and Protecting Your Capital, which focuses on the key decisions that help individuals increase their wealth, and he shares his thoughts on financial planning and investments through his blog, The Boston Advisor. He is also the host of Heritage Financial’s podcast, Wealthy Behavior. In 2023, Sammy was selected by Investopedia as a Top 100 Financial Advisor in the U.S.* and in 2024 was selected as a founding member of Investopedia’s Advisor Council. In his free time, Sammy loves to read, golf, and spend time with his wife and three children.
