Sammy was born in Boston and spent most of his life here – though he’s also lived overseas and in Baltimore, Toronto and Rochester, New York. He earned his BA from the University of Toronto and his Juris Doctor from the University of Maryland. After passing the Bar in Maryland, Sammy decided to pursue wealth management to help people with all aspects of their finances.
Early in his career, Sammy worked as lead advisor at an investment firm run by an estate planning group, where he drafted estate planning documents, administered estates, conducted tax research and worked closely with a robust trust department in addition to his financial planning and investment responsibilities. Next, Sammy built a national wealth management practice for a large money manager, and in 2011, became one of the youngest and fastest employees to be named a shareholder of that firm.
Now as President of Heritage Financial Services, Sammy works closely with our CEO on all facets of the firm’s business. His primary management responsibilities are helping translate the long-term vision of the firm into a strategic direction and goals that are effectively implemented so that Heritage can remain at the forefront of delivering high-quality wealth management services to its clients.
In addition to his firm leadership role, Sammy works closely with a select group of high net worth clients and spends time cultivating relationships with prospective clients who fit the firm’s approach. He is the author of Beyond The Basics: Maximizing, Allocating, and Protecting Your Capital, which focuses on the key decisions that help individuals increase their wealth, and he shares his thoughts on financial planning and investments through his blog, The Boston Advisor. In his free time, Sammy loves to read, golf, and spend time with his wife and three children.
