At just nine years old, Melissa could be found looking up stock information with her father in the public library. She credits her early interest in finance to the Saturday mornings she spent on his lap while he balanced the checkbook, paid bills, and checked on his investments.
After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics at Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, MA, Melissa started her professional career on the sector trading desk at Fidelity Investments in Boston. Two important things happened during this time. First, she learned she had a keen interest in operations, process, and strategy. Second, she went on a blind date, met Jon, and went on to marry and start a family.
Over the next 20+ years, Melissa pursued her developing interests in business strategy and process, working her way up to Chief Operating Officer at Athena Capital Advisors in Lincoln, MA and then accepting a position as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Compliance Officer at Prio Wealth in Boston. She joined Heritage Financial in 2022, where she oversees all service and operations, custodian relationships, process improvement, and technology.
Melissa lives in Concord, MA with her husband, two daughters, and two rescue dogs. When she’s not riding horses with her daughters, she loves trying new recipes, walking the dogs, and just hanging out at home with her family.
