Memorial Day weekend 2021 is in the books. All of us at Heritage Financial want to express our sincere gratitude to all our veterans and active service members.
We hope that many of you, like us, got back to some of your traditions during this year’s long holiday weekend.
It’s also the unofficial start to summer. And with that comes a much needed break and slowing of pace for many of our clients, partners, and friends. As you shift into a more relaxed gear, we wanted to share a few items of interest.
Last Saturday was 5/29
As our Director of Financial Planning, Ed Jastrem said, “It might sound a bit corny, but 5/29 is a good reminder to check up on your 529 plan or, more generally speaking, your overall college funding strategy”.
He’s offered up this easy cheat sheet on things to consider when starting to fund child education expenses. There’s a special section just on 529 plans.
Looking for something to listen to on the beach?
We wrapped up our Breaking Money Silence event with wealth psychologist Kathleen Burns Kingsbury last week. During the event, she spoke frankly about what’s at stake when families shy away from conversations about money and finances. She also shared strategies for breaking the silence. It starts with understanding your money mindset and taking proactive steps to share that mindset with your family and professional advisors.
If you’re kicking back on the beach this summer and want to work on some personal development that could also help your finances, we strongly suggest listening to a replay of our Breaking Money Silence event.
A few more get-togethers
You can still register for our next webinar, Understanding Sustainable Investing. The event will be hosted by Heritage President, Sammy Azzouz, and will feature Isabelle Williams, an Investment Strategist from Dimensional Fund Advisors.
Living more sustainably has become a widespread topic of interest. The recent pandemic has only fueled that mindset.
At Heritage, we’ve seen even more interest in learning how to reflect sustainability concerns in investment portfolios. Sammy and Isabelle will be digging into ways to do this while keeping a focus on achieving the goals of your financial plan.
The webinar is Wednesday, 6/2, at 2 pm EDT. There’s still time to register!
And for our clients
We are looking forward to seeing you at our upcoming Shred-It events over the next two weekends. We’ll be at our Westwood, MA office parking lot on Saturday, June 5th and our Woburn, MA office parking lot on Saturday, June 12th. Stop by to drop off your sensitive documents for secure shredding, and enjoy some treats and coffee with the Heritage staff.
