Sydnee grew up moving around the South, with roots in New Orleans, Dallas, and Houston. She is the youngest of four children and highly values her family.
Her interest in finance began in high school, as she applied to colleges with the understanding that her experience would be self-funded. No one in her family knew anything about finances, so her personal research into college costs led her to start putting together the missing pieces and wanting to help anyone trying to do the same. This process ultimately led her to pursue her education with the Bauer Business Honor’s College at the University of Houston, where she decided on a career in financial planning. She completed two internships through Edward Jones Investments and worked with nearly 20 advisors before she completed her studies. Concurrently, she worked 30hrs/week throughout the year to make sure her dream of graduating without college debt was realized. She graduated in four years with a Bachelor of Business in Finance and Marketing, with Personal Financial Planning and Professional Sales Certificates, and a minor in Psychology.
In 2020, Sydnee began her post-college career with Merrill Lynch. There, she worked as an Associate Financial Advisor on a Wealth Management team in Houston, Texas that specialized in planning for high-net-worth individuals. In 2021, she relocated to Providence, Rhode Island and transitioned within Merrill to support high-net-worth self-directed clients. In this role, she handled complex trading matters, supported small business owners, and provided education to clients regarding a wide variety of financial planning and investment management topics. Today, Sydnee works as an Associate Financial Planner for Heritage, where she supports the firm’s Wealth Management Teams.
In her spare time, Sydnee enjoys spending time with her husband, cooking, making her dog, Patty, new snacks, participating in nearly any outdoor activity, and traveling. She has visited 35 US states and 4 countries. While in Hawaii, she and her husband completed an 18-mile open-ocean kayak up Kauai’s Na Pali Coast.
