Heritage Participates in “My Brothers’ Keeper” Social Service

My Brother’s Keeper (MBK)  is a vibrant, welcoming charity which delivers furniture and food to families in need across southeastern Massachusetts. Now 30 years old, and growing at a tremendous pace they now provide over 8,500 deliveries of furniture and food each year, as their high standards and commitment to the community provides enormous value to the local population. Amazingly, MBK manages their entire operation with only 11 employees, leveraging the assistance of a large number of volunteers to support the effort. With this in mind, Heritage employees joined to improve the lives of those in our community who are less fortunate.

Taking on their roles participating in the sorting of new items donated to the charity, as well as making deliveries of requested items, Heritage employees Chuck Bean, Ann Smith, Karen Keefe, Will Bain, Andreane Bolduc and Jennifer Watson all commented on the strength of the organizational procedures that enabled them as inexperienced volunteers to immediately step in and contribute to the cause. Working in the 15,000 sq. ft. Easton facility, the Heritage team sorted and prepared over 200 items, and made 4 deliveries of large furniture in the Brockton area. The team returned to Heritage gratified that they could assist others, and look forward to additional opportunities to contribute to this important cause.
