Jim grew up in Stoneham, Massachusetts, and it didn’t take long for his life’s calling to reveal itself. In 6th grade, he was part of a team that won a statewide stock market contest. His course was set. He found he was fascinated with financial markets and the way they work. A public school product, Jim ran track, married his high school sweetheart and graduated from Bentley University with a BS in finance in 1996.

After school, Jim got a fast professional education at a large institutional bank. Still, he had always wanted to be part of a smaller, growing company he could help build from the foundation. When Jim met Heritage founder Chuck Bean at a family function, he knew he had found his vehicle.

Day to day, Jim sees himself as a teacher of Heritage clients. He dives down deep into each client’s financial life, conducting “financial physicals” and helping them understand what the firm is doing on their behalf. He works hard at helping each client develop fluency in their financial affairs, so they can make informed, empowered decisions.

A father of three young children, Jim coaches his son’s football team and his daughter’s softball team. A two-time captain of his college track team, he continues to pursue his lifelong passion for running. Jim also makes time to volunteer for several local charities, including Children’s Hospital Boston.
